Scottish curry restaurant with its own taste of Walkers chips

Scotland’s Curry Restaurant of the Year was awarded its own taste of Walker’s Chips.

The chip giant will introduce a Madras curry flavor based on a dish served at The Radhuni in Loanhead on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The chips will be available next month and will be part of the company’s campaign to recognize restaurants that have helped their communities during the pandemic.

Radhuni is the first Indian-Bangladeshi restaurant in the UK to receive this award. Last year it raised £ 10,000 for the NHS and served thousands of free meals to frontline staff.

A Walkers spokesperson said, “In the past 18 months we’ve seen that beloved local restaurants like Radhuni are definitely there for us.

“Now we want to support and celebrate that.”

Each package includes a £ 5 restaurant voucher.

Radhuni’s managing partner Habibur Khan became the youngest winner of a major UK curry award in 2019 at the age of 23.

He said the approach of Walkers came out of the blue.

He thanked his staff and customers, adding, “We are thrilled to have provided the inspiration for this new crispy taste and to be recognized for the passion we have always had for the local community.”
