Prince William and Kate celebrated the New Year by sharing a picture of themselves in their best dressing gown.
The royals wished the country a happy 2022 with the beloved picture, which was captured in the back of a car after the James Bond premiere earlier this year.
William, wearing a tuxedo and bow tie, can be seen smiling broadly next to a grinning Kate in a sparkling gold sequin dress.
It is a high point in a busy year for the Cambridges as they played an increasingly important role within the family.
The couple, who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in 2021, launched various new charity initiatives, including the Earth Shot Prize, which honors climate innovators.
It was also a year of sadness when William’s grandfather, Prince Philip, died in April while defending allegations that the royals were “racist” after Brother Harry appeared on television with Oprah Winfrey.
A body language expert said the New Year’s photo choice “reminded us of their enduring love.”
Judy James told The Sun: “This simple, sexy and very loving photo that the Cambridges have chosen for their New Year message is subtly filled with several encrypted messages about their relationship with each other and their relationship with the British public, with a view of theirs future roles as king and queen.

“Why is it sexy? Because it looks so much like an echo of the poses we saw on the couple during their dating years, when they often flirted and made tactile in the back of limos after parties rolled out.
“Since their wedding, their shared body language has been much more discreet, but the choice of makeup suggests they’re still the same fun, flirtatious duo they were back then.”
The Cambridges are believed to have gone to Kate’s family in West Berkshire to celebrate New Years after spending Christmas in Norfolk.
Kate will start the year 2022 with her 40th birthday on January 9th, although the celebrations are expected to be “low key” and “family-oriented”.

The royal author Duncan Larcombe said OK! “Kate and William are not the kind of people who go out to party alone and leave the kids at home.
“I think Kate’s birthday will be the same as Christmas – it will be reserved and focused on family.”
The couple will also play a role in celebrating the Queen’s platinum jubilee year as she becomes the first female monarch to sit on the throne for seven decades.
A series of events will be held from June 2nd to 5th, reflecting the Queen’s long years on the throne, while the country will also enjoy an additional holiday.
